This special screening was attended by many celebs like Mrunal Thakur, Ishwak Singh, Avneet Kaur, Bhuvan Bam among others.The first reviews of the movie post this screening are out now and here’s how people have reacted. Actress Shweta Basu Prasad said, “It was like a live concert film. I just know the person (Amar Singh Chamkila) so much better. I think people should watch it for Diljit, Imtiaz sir and the music. It’s so well-made.”
Ishwak Singh of ‘Rocket Boys’ fame shared: “It has to be on everyone’s must-watch list. It’s a very special film. It’s very inspiring, moving and rooted. And, it’s got Imtiaz Ali’s spunk and wildness.”

AR Rahman has helmed the film’s music as it plays an essential role in the movie. Earlier, Diljit had spoken about how tough it was for him and Parineeti both. The actor-singer had said, “Even Parineeti, I did not have expectations from her because Amarjot’s part was tougher. Amarjot used to sing in a very high pitch. So, we have tried. I cannot sing like Chamkila and Parineeti cannot sing like Amarjot. We have only tried. Since in the film it is connected to the story, people might like it.”
The film is releasing on OTT on April 12.
