In a move to make premium public transport more affordable, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on Friday has announced a reduction in the weekly pass fare for its Vajra AC bus services.
The revised fare will come into effect immediately.
Since 1 August 2025, the Vajra AC weekly pass had been priced at ₹750, excluding toll charges. The BMTC has now lowered the cost to ₹700, bringing a ₹50 reduction for regular commuters. The corporation in a release stated that the decision was taken to offer commuters more competitive pricing and to encourage a greater shift towards public transport in the city.
The Vajra AC buses, which serve several IT corridors and high-density routes, are widely used by office-goers and daily users for alternative to private vehicles and ride-hailing services. The officials said the fare revision was expected to benefit thousands of daily travellers who rely on weekly passes.
The BMTC has also clarified that the Vajra weekly pass would continue to be issued only in digital format. Commuters can purchase and activate the pass conveniently through the Tummoc app.
