Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dy. CM congratulate Koneru Hampy on winning prestigious chess title

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Koneru Humpy on winning the FIDE Women’s World Rapid Chess Championship 2024.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister said: “What a proud moment for India! Congratulations to Koneru Humpy on winning the FIDE Women’s World Rapid Chess Championship 2024. Her incredible triumph caps off a phenomenal year for Indian chess!”

Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Nara Lokesh said: “Delighted to see Koneru Humpy crowned the 2024 FIDE Women’s World Rapid Champion! This exceptional feat is an admirable example of your grit, determination and skill. Here’s to many more triumphs and inspiring generations to come. You’re a true Indian chess legend!”

“Heartiest congratulations to Koneru Humpy for winning the 2024 Women’s World Rapid Chess Championship—her second world title! Your brilliance and perseverance inspire not just Andhra Pradesh but the entire nation. A true queen of chess!” Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan said on X.

In a press release, Sports Minister Ramprasad Reddy expressed joy over Ms. Humpy’s victory. The Minister praised Ms. Humpy’s performance as she emerged victorious by defeating Indonesia’s Irine Kharisma Sukandar in the 11th round. He lauded her extraordinary determination and skill, and urged Humpy to achieve more victories, inspiring the youth.

Governor’s pat

Governor S. Abdul Nazeer also extended his congratulations to Ms. Humpy. In a statement issued by Raj Bhavan on Sunday, the Governor said the country was proud of Ms. Humpy’s remarkable victory and wished her many more successes in future.
