Andhra Pradesh Mahila Commission Chairperson Rayapati Sailaja has said that notices will be served on the Sakshi TV management, senior journalist Kommineni Srinivas and analyst V.V.R. Krishnam Raju.
In response to the alleged offensive comments made by Mr. Krishnam Raju during a debate aired on the Sakshi TV, Ms. Sailaja on Monday said that the Women Commission would render justice to the victims.
She blamed the Sakshi and the other accused for making ‘insulting comments against women’, and observed that the latter had no remorse on their remarks.
“The Women Commission will initiate action as per the law and take steps to prevent recurrence of such incidents,” Ms. Sailaja told the media and praised the police for acting swiftly on the complaint lodged by Amaravati Women JAC.
“On the pretext of freedom of expression, some people are targeting women. It is not correct to insult any section of society. If Mr. Krishnam Raju is not at fault, why is he absconding?” she questioned.
The Commission would recommend to the authorities concerned for taking action against the Sakshi, Ms. Sailaja said.
