‘Anaconda’ box office collection Day 4: Paul Rudd and Jack Blak starrer fails to reach Rs 5 crore mark amid ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ takeover | – The Times of India

Day-wise box office earnings for ‘Anaconda’

‘Anaconda’ opened at the box office with modest numbers, collecting Rs 1.6 crore on its first Thursday. The film witnessed a sharp drop on Friday, earning Rs 0.8 crore, before showing a slight recovery over the weekend. It added Rs 1.05 crore on Saturday, followed by early estimates of around Rs 1 crore on Sunday. With this, the film’s total box office collection over its first four days stands at approximately Rs 4.45 crore.The film scored a total English occupancy of 18.07%, with the numbers slightly rising from yesterday’s stats. Even Hindi occupancy faced a rise, with their total coming up to 13.11%. The Tamil occupancy was the highest for Sunday’s shows, and stood at 18.89% in total, matching Saturday’s numbers. The weekend rush was supposed to bring in more revenue for the film. However, the film’s performance on Saturday and Sunday was considerably low.

‘Anaconda’ vs ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’

While it did manage to hit the Rs 1 crore mark, it was far behind the collections of the James Cameron release ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. The Hollywood film collected a total of Rs 10 crore by the end of its 10th day at the box office.

‘Anaconda’ facing stiff competition from ‘Dhurandhar’

While the film’s release came amid the Christmas weekend, the it failed to get a foothold at the Indian box office that has been dominated by the Hindi film ‘Dhurandhar’. The spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh has been on a golden run at the box office, raking in the big bucks.
