Daayra movie: Kareena Kapoor and Prithviraj wrap shooting for Meghna Gulzar’s crime-drama

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran have wrapped shooting for Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming crime-drama, Daayra, the makers announced on December 26, 2025.

Jointly produced by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, the film is set to be released in 2026.

Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios shared a photo of Kareena, Meghna and Prithviraj to make the announcement. They wrote in caption, “Months of hard work, creativity, and collaboration have come together to bring this story to life. Immense gratitude to the cast, crew, and everyone who made this journey possible. Onward to the next chapter! In Cinemas 2026.”

As per a press release, “Daayra is a gripping investigative crime thriller that explores how a diabolical act can trigger equal and opposite reactions, fracturing opinions across society.”

Meghna has directed powerful films like Raazi, Talvar and Chhapaak. Her last, Sam Bahadur, was a war biopic starring Vicky Kaushal. Junglee Pictures, the banner behind Talvar and Raazi, is collaborating with Meghna again for Daayra.

Meanwhile, Kareena was last seen in Singham Again (2024). On the other hand, Prthviraj featured in Vilayath Buddha, which came out earlier this year.
