The fourth season of the World Tennis League exhibition tournament will be held at the S.M. Krishna Stadium from Wednesday.
The four-day League, which was held in Dubai for three years, will make its India debut and is set to feature stars such as Daniil Medvedev, Nick Kyrgios, Paula Badosa, Gael Monfils, Elina Svitolina and Rohan Bopanna, among others.
The 16 players will be split into four four-member teams, and the competition will be played in the round-robin format, with the top-two teams progressing to the final. Each tie consists of four sets and teams will get one point for each game they win in a tie.
On Wednesday (3 p.m. onwards): VB Realty Hawks (Denis Shapovalov, Yuki Bhambri, Elina Svitolina & Maaya Revathi) vs. Aussie Mavericks Kites (Nick Kyrgios, Dhakshineshwar Suresh, Marta Kostyuk & Ankita Raina) followed by AOS Eagles (Gael Monfils, Sumit Nagal, Paula Badosa & Shrivalli Bhamidipaty) vs. Game Changers Falcons (Daniil Medvedev, Rohan Bopanna, Magda Linette & Sahaja Yamalapalli).
