National boxing championships from December 31

The National Men’s and Women’s Boxing Championships will be held simultaneously for the first time at the Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, from December 31 to January 6.

Boxers will compete in 10 weight categories in each section.

Several top boxers are expected to take part in the championships, which will serve as a basis for selecting pugilists to kick-start preparations for the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games in 2026, as well as the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028.

Services and Railways enter as the defending men’s and women’s team champions respectively.
