HospiPal Health introduces patients’ assistance service in Mumbai

HospiPal Health, a health-tech platform, has announced the launch of its patients’ assistance service in Mumbai.

The company has introduced a new category in healthcare: trained, non-medical companions called HospiPals, who provide emotional support, companionship, and day-to-day assistance to patients during hospital visits and stays.

While hospitals continue to manage high patient volumes and doctors focus on clinical care, patients often struggle with anxiety, lack of companionship, confusion around paperwork, and emotional vulnerability.

Families, too, deal with mounting stress, compassion fatigue, and the pressure of managing hospital routines. HospiPal Health bridges this gap, the firm said.

HospiPal Health co-founder & managing partner Dr. Umang Shandilaya said, “As a doctor, I have seen first-hand how emotional distress can impact recovery. Clinical care saves lives, but human presence heals hearts.”

“HospiPal Health fills a critical gap by supporting patients when they need it most — during long waiting hours, through complex procedures, and in moments when families cannot be physically present. Our aim is to complement hospital systems with compassionate, trained support that enhances overall patient experience,” he added.
