The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials of Mahabubnagar range trapped a lineman of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 in Nagarkurnool district on Tuesday (October 14, 2025).
The accused officer, Thota Nagendra, working at Machinoniapally village in Vangoor mandal, allegedly demanded the amount from a complainant to install a distribution transformer (DTR) in his agricultural field.
The bribe money was recovered from Nagendra’s possession during the trap — which was laid based on a complaint.
The accused official was arrested and produced before the special court for ACB cases at Nampally, Hyderabad. Further investigation is underway.

The ACB has urged the public to report any instances of bribery by government employees by dialling the toll-free number 1064 or contacting them via WhatsApp (9440446106) and social media handles of Telangana ACB. The identity of complainants will be kept confidential.
