The Markazi Milad Juloos Committee, on Friday, met Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar and sought action against the recent objectionable remarks made by Goshamahal legislator T. Raja Singh.
The committee, comprising several Muslim faith leaders and preachers, which is at the forefront of organising the Milad procession, met Mr. Sajjanar, along with Mir Zulfiqar Ali, who is the legislator representing Charminar. The delegation informed Mr. Sajjanar that Mr. Singh’s remarks had greatly disrespected Prophet Muhammad, and angered Muslims.
The delegation stated that Mr. Singh, in the past too, had made offensive and objectionable remarks about Prophet Muhammad to gain political advantage.
Committee representatives sought to know from Mr. Sajjanar what action the police were going to take, given that several complaints were submitted to different police stations bringing to light these remarks.
