The Hill Palace police at Thripunithura have filed a charge sheet in the case related to the seizure of suspected ganja from a flat occupied by a group, including rapper Hirandas Murali, popularly known as Vedan, in April.
The charge sheet was filed before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Thripunithura, two weeks ago, a police officer with the Hill Palace station said. The officer added that Vedan and eight others had been charged with consumption of narcotic substances as found during the investigation. The charge, if proven, attracts only a fine, the officer said.

The accused have been charged under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. They were let off on bail after their arrest.
