Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who is awaiting the release of his filmThug Life, on Monday (May 19) unveiled the first look of the upcoming Malayalam movie Chinna Chinna Aasai, starring Madhoo and Indrans.

The first look features the two lead stars sitting on a bench on a terrace in Varanasi.

Interestingly, the film’s title is not only borrowed from the popular song from Mani Ratnam’s evergreen 1992 Tamil film Roja — which was also a breakout film for Madhoo — the film too is said to be inspired by the soundtrack.

Shot entirely in Varanasi, Chinna Chinna Aasai is written and directed by Varsha Vasudev. With music scored by Govind Vasantha, the upcoming film has cinematography by Faiz Siddik and editing by Reckson Joseph.

Produced by Abhijit Babuji under his Babuji Productions banner, the film will release in Malayalam and Tamil. A release date is yet to be announced.
