‘India will strike’: Former India cricketer makes a strong statement after Pahalgam terror attack – The Times of India

New Delhi:Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has issued a strong and emotional statement in the wake of the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Gambhir condemned the attack and vowed that justice will be served:
> “Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike. #Pahalgam

The heinous act, which claimed multiple lives and left the nation shaken, has prompted a widespread outpouring of grief and outrage. Former and current Indian cricketers joined Gambhir in mourning the tragedy.
Former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh wrote: “Deeply saddened by the attack on tourists in Pahalgam. Praying for the victims and for the strength of their families. Let us stand united in hope and humanity.”

Irfan Pathan, who was recently in Kashmir, expressed his heartbreak: “Every time an innocent life is lost, humanity loses… this pain feels too close.”

Former opener Virender Sehwag posted: Deeply pained to hear of the reprehensible terrorist attack on innocent tourists in #Pahalgam . My heart goes out to those who have lost their loved ones. Prayers for the injured

Suresh Raina condemned the attack, calling it a “cowardly act”:

From the current squad, vice-captain KL Rahul and top-order batter Shubman Gill also spoke out.
KL Rahul said: Heartbreaking to hear about the terrorist attack in Kashmir. My thoughts are with the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength.

Shubman Gill added: Heartbreaking to hear about the attack in Pahalgam. My prayers are with the victims and their families. Violence like this has no place in our country.
