Bengali star Jisshu Sengupta has joined the cast of Bhooth Bangla, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s upcoming horror-comedy with filmmaker Priyadarshan.
The makers announced the news on Saturday, March 15, on Jisshu’s 48th birthday.
Bhooth Bangla features Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Mithila Palkar, and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead alongside Akshay.
Jisshu, who starred in Hindi films like Barfi!, Manikarnika, Piku, and Mardaani 2, was recently seen in Netflix’s Dabba Cartel.
A horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla reunites Akshay and Priyadarshan after 14 years. Their last feature film was 2010’s political satire Khatta Meetha. The two have also worked in several hit comedies such as Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, and Bhagam Bhag.
Produced by Balaji Telefilms Ltd in association with Cape of Good Films, the film is set to release in theatres on April 2, 2026. Akshay is also attached as a producer on the film, along with Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. Faara Sheikh and Vedant Vikaas Baali serve as co-producers.
