A.P. Minister Lokesh gifts ‘Mangalagiri saree’ to his wife Brahmani on the occasion of Sankranti

IT and Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh gifted a special saree hand-woven by artisans in Mangalagiri, to his wife Brahmani on the occasion of Sankranti.

I a message posted on ‘ X ‘ Mr. Lokesh said he was honoured to gift the saree to his wife, and the beauty and craftsmanship of Mangalagiri handlooms are truly unmatched.

Mr. Lokesh stressed the need to celebrate and keep alive the rich heritage of the skilled Mangalagiri weavers.

Thanking her husband, Ms. Brahmani said Mangalagiri sarees were truly special not only for elegance but also for their story of tradition and craftsmanship. 

“It’s a privilege to wear the work of our talented weavers. Wishing everyone a very Happy Sankranti filled with joy and prosperity!”, she responded. 

It may be noted that Mangalagiri sarees and fabrics have Geographical Indication (GI) – tag along with three other handloom products in AP namely Uppada Jamdani, Venkatagiri sarees, and Dharmavaram silk sarees.
