Annamayya District Collector Sridhar Chamakuri on Saturday personally presented a cheque of ₹1 lakh to B. Jahnavi, a Class 10 student at Model School in K.V. Palle mandal, who is currently undergoing dialysis due to the complete failure of her two kidneys.

During a routine visit to the school on November 27, Mr. Chamakuri learned about Ms. Jahnavi’s difficult circumstances. The young girl requires dialysis three times a week, a demanding schedule that not only affects her health but also her educational pursuits.

He instructed the school authorities to arrange a meeting at the Collectorate in Rayachoti, where Ms. Jahnavi would bring along her medical records to discuss her situation in further detail. The student, accompanied by her mother, headmaster of her school, and the area medical officer, met the Collector to present her case.

In a demonstration of direct support, Mr. Chamakuri provided immediate financial assistance of ₹1 lakh from his own funds to help cover her medical expenses. He also assured Ms. Jahnavi and her family that they would receive every possible medical help from the government.
