Sai Abhyankkar, Suriya and AR Rahman

We had previously reported that Tamil superstar Suriya is teaming up with actor-director RJ Balaji for his new film, tentatively called Suriya 45, with Oscar-winner AR Rahman on board as the music composer. Now, the latest is that youth sensation Sai Abhyankkar of ‘Katchi Sera’ and ‘Aasa Kooda’ fame has replaced Rahman as the composer.
On Monday, Dream Warrior Pictures the banner bankrolling the film, announced the news on their social media handles.
The news comes amid speculations that Rahman might take a break from composing music for a year. A few weeks ago, Rahman and his wife Saira Bhanu announced separation after 29 years of marriage due to “significant emotional strain in their relationship”.
Suriya 45, which went on floors in the last week of November is bankrolled by SR Prabu and SR Prakash Babu of Dream Warrior Pictures, the banner which bankrolled Suriya’s NGK. Earlier this week, the makers had announced that cinematographer GK Vishnu has joined the film.
Last seen in Kanguva, Suriya has teamed up with Karthik Subbaraj for Suriya 44 which also stars Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George and Karunakaran in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Balaji was recently seen in Sorgavaasal. The actor is set to star in a film titled Happy Ending that’s produced by Million Dollar Studios, the production house behind recent Tamil hits like Good Night and Lover in collaboration with M.R.P. Entertainment.
Abhyankkar took the internet by storm this year with his sensational indie tracks, ‘Katchi Sera’ and ‘Aasa Kooda’. The musician will make his debut as a film composer in Raghava Lawrence’s Benz, the upcoming Lokesh Cinematic Universe film.
