30,534 PG seats up for grabs in A.P. universities

As many as 30,534 postgraduate (PG) seats in Arts, Commerce, Education and Sciences streams for the academic year 2025-26 are up for grabs at 17 universities in Andhra Pradesh.

For the first time, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has offered Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) the task of conducting the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (APPGCET), for admission into PG courses like M.A., M.Sc. And M.Com. The notification was released on March 31 and the issue of applications online began on April 2.

SVU Vice-Chancellor (V-C) Ch. Appa Rao addressed a media conference at his chambers here on Thursday, along with APPGCET 2025 convener P.C. Venkateswarlu and co-convener K. Surendra Babu, when he mentioned the varsity’s plans to conduct the test in a hassle-free manner.

Students can apply online without penalty from April 2 to May 5, the fee for which is ₹850 for Other Castes (OC), ₹750 for Backward Classes (BC), ₹650 for Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates. They can also before May 25, however various fines will be applicable in this case.

The entrance test will be conducted in three sessions from June 9 to 13 for admission into 153 courses, while 31 tests will be held online in three sessions during the same period. “The tests will be held in 35 examination centres based on the 13 old district headquarters of Andhra Pradesh, besides in Hyderabad,” Prof. Appa Rao added.
