As many as 57 teams of 200 students participated in the 48-hour national-level hackathon organized by BLDE Institute Vachana Pitamaha Dr. P.G. Halakatti Engineering and Technology College in Vijayapura on Friday and Saturday.
The students showcased their technical skills and innovations. They created several models based on real problems and displayed their creativity and technical ability.
Principal Manjunath P. and vice-principal P.V. Malaji inaugurated the event.
Dr. Manjunath said that events like the hackathon are beneficial for students in bringing out their latent talents and instilling a competitive spirit.
NAIN Coordinator R.D. Salagar, professor and head of Department of Computer Science (AIML) Sumangala Biradar, head of Department of ISE Daneshwari Noola were present on the occasion.
The judges appreciated the innovative solutions of the teams and awarded prizes and certificates to the best performers.
The students and the organizers said that this program has helped in developing entrepreneurship, team spirit and problem-solving skills among students.
The program was successfully coordinated by Vishwanath Chikkareddy and Somashekar Dhanyal, said a release.
